<h2 class="text-align-center">When to Choose the Pediatric Emergency Room</h2>
The Children's Emergency Room is designed for serious or life-threatening conditions that require immediate, specialized care for children. Bring your child to the ER if they are experiencing the following illnesses or injuries:
Breathing difficulties or severe asthma attacks | Head injuries, seizures, or loss of consciousness
Severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis) | Broken bones with visible deformity
Uncontrolled bleeding or deep wounds | Suspected poisoning or ingestion of harmful substances
Thoughts of suicide or self harm | Severe burns (any serious, electrical or acid) |
<h2 class="text-align-center">When Urgent Care Is Appropriate</h2>
Urgent care is often the right choice when your child needs medical attention quickly - but their condition is not life‑threatening. Urgent care centers can treat many common illnesses and minor injuries.
You should bring your child to an urgent care location if they are experiencing minor illnesses and/or injuries, such as:
Ear infections
Sore throats
Mild fevers
Small cuts
Sprains
Bruises
Mild rashes
Minor allergic reactions
