PGY2 Medication Safety and Policy Pharmacy Residency Learning Experiences
Each resident will complete a two-week orientation at the start of the residency year.
All required, elective, and longitudinal learning experiences are listed below. Most rotations are five weeks long, unless otherwise noted.

- Medication Safety I and II
- Medication Safety – Pediatrics
- Formulary Management I and II
- Pharmacy Informatics
- Inpatient Pharmacy Management
- Ambulatory Pharmacy Management
- Emergency Medicine/Toxicology
- Academia
- Antibiotic Stewardship
- Research
- Any clinical rotation offered through the PGY1 or PGY2 programs
- Medication Safety Practice Management
- Drug Shortages
- Pharmacy Conference
- Presentations
- Residency Research Project
- Weekend and UMass observed holiday clinical staffing
- Weekend: every 3rd or 4th weekend
- Weekday: three hours weekly
- Holiday coverage rotates among residents

Our program has developed residency graduates who have obtained positions as Medication Safety Officers, Administrators, Informatics Specialists, as well as Clinical Pharmacists at health care institutions nationwide.
PGY2 MUSP Pharmacy Residency Program Application Requirements
- Candidates must be PharmD graduates of an accredited college of pharmacy
- Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 pharmacy residency program
- Candidates must be eligible for Massachusetts licensure, which must be obtained by October 29
- Candidates must be U.S. citizens or permanent U.S. residents
