Our emergency rooms are staffed by on-site emergency medicine physicians, nurses and pediatric specialists who know how to help kids feel comfortable in stressful situations. We also have a wide range of medical and surgical subspecialists available at all times, enabling us to assess and treat your child as quickly as possible.

At UMass Memorial Health – Milford Regional Medical Center, our pediatric emergency team collaborates with Boston Children’s Hospital physicians to provide the highest quality services close to home. If your child needs a transfer to our Level I Trauma Center or another facility, we provide immediate air or ground transportation.

The Region’s Only Level I Trauma Center

UMass Memorial Medical Center – Children’s Medical Center is home to the only Level I Trauma Center in Central Massachusetts — a distinction that matters when every second counts. Level I is the highest available designation from the American College of Surgeons (ACS). It means our facility has advanced capabilities to provide urgent treatment for critically ill or injured children and adults. Experts in trauma surgery, orthopedics, neurosurgery, pediatrics and other specialties are available 24/7 to deliver lifesaving care.

Urgent Care for Kids

At UMass Memorial, we offer several options for your family to get same-day medical care for non-life-threatening health concerns. Our walk-in urgent care locations throughout Central Massachusetts make it easy to get prompt treatment from skilled medical professionals.

We also offer 24/7 urgent care for children and adolescents at the Pediatric Emergency Room at UMass Memorial Medical Center - Children's Medical Center. Located inside our Trauma Center, the Pediatric Emergency Room provides after-hours care for mild to moderate illnesses and injuries when your pediatrician or family doctor is unavailable.
